EMR SOFTWARE IN INDIA
EMR software for Indian doctors: ABHA, Indian medicines, your language and WhatsApp
Indian brands and generics, consultations in your language, prescriptions on WhatsApp, fees by UPI and ABHA on the patient record, all in one OPD system.
- India OPD medicine catalog with brand aliases
- AI scribe in 22 Indian languages plus English
- WhatsApp prescriptions and UPI collection built in

The details that make software fit an Indian OPD
Global EMRs are built around insurance billing and English-only workflows. These are the differences that matter in a busy Indian clinic.
An Indian medicine catalog
A formulary covering common OPD medicines, with brand aliases, default routes and doses, ranked by what your clinic prescribes most.
Your language in the consult room
The AI scribe detects any of the 22 scheduled Indian languages plus English and drafts the note in English for you to review.
WhatsApp, not another app
Prescriptions leave as a picture on WhatsApp and open in the phone's browser. Patients install nothing.
Spoken advice for the family
Send a short audio clip of your advice in the family's language along with the prescription.
UPI collection
Collect fees by UPI against the visit, or connect Razorpay for online payment.
ABHA and ABDM: what works today
India's digital health mission is moving fast, so it helps to be exact about what the software does now.
ABHA number on the record
Store the 14-digit ABHA number on the patient, see it on the consult screen and search patients by it.
ABHA enrolment from the profile
Create or link an ABHA with Aadhaar OTP from the patient profile and save the health address.
Consent-based record requests
Start a request for records from ABHA. The patient approves in their ABHA app. Importing the records that come back is still being built.
What we do not claim
Medabha is not a certified ABDM health locker today, and we say so on our security page.
Indian rules: DPDP, registration and prescriptions
Clinics carry the responsibility for patient records and prescriptions, so the roles are stated plainly.
Your clinic is the data fiduciary
Under the DPDP Act your clinic decides how patient data is used. Medabha processes it on your instructions.
Each clinic is its own tenant
Records are scoped to your clinic, so another practice cannot open your patients.
Your registration on every prescription
Add your qualification and medical council registration number once, and they print on every prescription.
You can leave with a copy
The owner can download patient and visit records from Settings, and can delete the clinic and its data from there.
A typical Indian OPD visit in Medabha
- 1
Token and registration
A scheduled patient arrives with a token, or a walk-in is added with a name and phone number.
- 2
Consult in your language
The scribe drafts the note while you talk in Hindi, Tamil, Bengali or any language you use.
- 3
Prescribe from the catalog
Pick medicines by brand or generic, and use one-tap problem packs for common conditions.
- 4
Sign and send
The prescription goes to the patient on WhatsApp, with an optional voice note.
- 5
Collect
Record the fee and collect by UPI if the patient wants to pay online.

Where we are honest about limits
- Picture Rx is in English today. Multilingual prescription templates are planned.
- GST line-item invoicing is not built yet. Fees and UPI collection are.
- ABHA is identity plus enrolment and consent requests. Importing records is still in development.
Frequently asked questions
Is Medabha ABDM compliant?
We do not claim ABDM certification. Medabha stores ABHA numbers, can enrol or link an ABHA from the patient profile and can start consent-based record requests, while record import is still being built. Our security page lists what we do and do not certify.
Does the EMR work in Hindi and other Indian languages?
The AI scribe understands all 22 scheduled Indian languages plus English and writes the note in English for you to review. The prescription image is in English today.
Do patients need a smartphone app?
No. Patients receive a WhatsApp link that opens in their browser, so there is nothing to install.
Is patient data stored in India?
Where data is stored is described on our security page, together with who can open it and what happens if you leave. We recommend reading it before you decide.
How much does EMR software cost in India?
Medabha is priced as a clinic plan rather than per appointment, with no commission. Book a short demo and we will walk you through the plan for your clinic. Our guide to choosing clinic software shows how to compare total cost across vendors.
